Presidential “surprise visits” to continue

SantoDomingo.- The government has announced anextensive presentation of its new plans aimed at scaling up the president’s so-called“surprise visits” program to farmer groups and cooperatives across the country, which it says had a positive impact on job creationand fighting poverty during Medina’s first four-year term of office 2012-2016.

Administrative Minister of the Presidency José Ramón Peraltastated that this strategy by president Danilo Medina has transformed the livesof many people across the nation.

Peralta said that the initial success of this initiative meantthat additional plans were in process to give it increased effect, in direct relationto the increased demand, because the government is supporting a large number ofprojects promoted by small and medium-scale farming producers.

“We will soon be making a wide-ranging presentation of the plansfor continuing to promote the surprise visits,” stated the minister via hisTwitter account.
