Beach cleanup in Punta Cana

La Altagracia.- Employees of the Punta Cana-Macao Power Company (CEPM) recently held a beach cleaning day on Cabeza de Torobeach as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy.

They were joined in the task by employees ofthe ACTIVA and Bayahibe electricity companies, spending eight hours clearinggarbage from a long stretch of coastline.

According to CEPM, the volunteers filled 700bags of waste, garbage and seaweed collected from the beach.

The volunteers also placed garbage cansdonated by CEPM at key points and built a shelter for Navy vigilance, alsodonated by the power company.

CEPM is a private electricity company that hadbeen generating, supplying, distributing and selling power in the tourist areasof Punta Cana-Bávaro and Bayahibe since 1992,with available capacity of 198.95 MW.

With 612.8 kilometers of high, medium and low-tensiontransmission lines, the company supplies electricity to 60% of the nationaltourism sector – more than 40,000 rooms and more than 22,000 residentialcustomers.
