Tropical wave brings more rain

Santo Domingo.- TheMeteorological Office says that a tropical system is approaching the DominicanRepublic Friday, increasing cloud cover as of noon with scattered showers andisolated thunderstorms across several provinces. Forecasters say that the rainis most likely to affect the provinces of La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís,Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, Duarte, Samaná, San Cristóbal and Greater SantoDomingo.

Despite the rains, temperatures will remain highnationwide. Members of the public are advised to drink plenty of liquids, wear lightclothing and avoided prolonged exposure to the sun between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Maximum temperatures for Santo Domingo will be between 33 and 35ºCwith the minimum from 22ºC to 24ºC. Weather forecasters also pointed out that hurricaneHermine does not pose a risk to the country.
