Non-political professionals should head Electoral entities: opposition

Santo Domingo.- A group of the leading political oppositionparties on Monday said all members of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and theSuperior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) should be replaced by professionals without politicalaffiliation.

In joint press conference, the leaders of the opposition partiesheaded by PRM president Luis Abinader suggested the participation of socialorganizations, noting that would benefit the dialogue process itself andsociety in general.

Acting as spokesperson for the group, Al-Pais partypresident Minou Tavarez said they expect the frank and sincere participationof the pro-government political forces with the opposition, “to open other sessions of talks where manyof the grave problems affecting the nation can be addressed.”
