US envoy, Foreign minister meet amid canceled visa flap

Santo Domingo.- US ambassador James W. Brewster on Monday visitedForeign minister Miguel Vargas, amid the flap resulting from Washington’s decisionto revoke the US ordinary and official visas issued to Central Electoral Board(JCE) president Roberto Rosario.

The diplomats discussed how to bolster bilateral ties,increase trade, and continuing joint efforts in several areas, according to a ForeignMinistry statement.

Economic Affairs vice minister Hugo Francisco Rivera and Communicationsdirector Hugo Beras accompanied Vargas in the meeting, which lasted just over40 minutes.
