Formidable David Ortiz sets another final-season record: EFE

Houston.- Dominican slugger David Ortiz continues hisdominance over pitchers in the final days of his career, setting another recordin the majors on Friday, underling his status as one of Latin America’s mostformidable ballplayers, EFE reports.

Ortiz blasted a two-run homer and set a record for a playerin his final season in the Boston Red Sox’s 2-1 win over Tampa Bay.

The slugger, who hit his 37th home run, connected a firstinning pitch and reached 124 RBIs, passing Joe Jackson on the all-time list forthe best record in a final season, in 1920.
