Medina off to Colombia for annual Ibero-American Summit

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina fliesto Colombia Friday at 4pm from San Isidro Airbase to participate in the 25thannual Ibero-American Summit, and is slated to return tomorrow Saturday at 8pm.

It’s the Dominican leader’s second majorinternational event in just one week, after hosting the Summit of Heads of Stateand Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC)which concluded in Santo Domingo on Wednesday.

The CELAC’s joint statement calls for closercooperation on tax issues, in recognition of the need to address tax evasionand erosion of the tax base between the two regions.
