Dominican innovative construction projects get CEMEX’s kudos

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic wasawarded for three innovative projects with a high social and environmentalimpact in the Dominican construction industry in the sixth edition of theCEMEX-Tec Prize, hosted by CEMEX-Tec Center for the Development of SustainableCommunities.

Based in Mexico, the awards recognize thebest proposals of major importance in terms of sustainable development inMexico and Latin America.

It’s the first time in six years that theDominican Republic participates in the International Prize and came away withseveral awards.

The proposals "ColorBlind Design"by Nathalia García and "AIME Inc" by Cristopher de la Cruz wereselected the winners in the Social Entrepreneurs category; while the project "BoBlock"by Abel Castillo won the category Innovation in Construction.

In this edition, the award was first extendedto Latin America, receiving more than 311 entries from 14 countries and 78universities across the region.
