Donald Trump pulls stunning upset to the White House

Santo Domingo.- Republican nominee DonaldTrump was elected president of the United States Tuesday, in a stunning upsetthat defied nearly every prediction.

Trump surged over Hillary Clinton’sDemocratic firewall and turned back her bid to become the first woman to serveas president, even as the candidates battled for the lead in the popular vote.

"The real estate magnate was carried tovictory by a wave of right-wing populist nationalism, as working- andmiddle-class white Americans turned out in droves to vote for a candidate whohad rejected Republican dogma during an erratic, peculiar campaign. Trumpoverperformed expectations in nearly every public poll, as well as the internalexpectations of both parties," reports US outlet theatlantic.com.
