March prices fall -0.20%, paced by foods

Plantains are cheaper

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Central Bank on Tuesday said March prices were -0.20% compared with February, with first quarter accumulated inflation at 0.84 percent.

It said annualized inflation, from March 2016 to March 2017, stood at 3.14%, “remaining around the lower limit of the goal established in the Monetary Program for the current year of 4.0% (± 1.0%).

The Central Bank added that the negative inflation in March stemmed mostly from the lower prices on foods and non-alcoholic beverages
