Dominican women take volleyball silver on lofty run

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic women’s volleyball team won the silver medal after a setback by the United States, 3-1 (16-25, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-23), which won the Gold in the XVI Pan American Cup final held in Peru.

The Americans finished unbeaten at 7-0, to the Dominicans’ 6-1.

It was the Americans fifth gold, winning in 2003, 2012, 2013 and 2015.

The “Caribbean Queens” meanwhile took home the silver medal, their 7th in the competition.
