DR Golf Travel Exchange coming to Cap Cana, Casa de Campo

Santo Domingo.- After three successful events, the country will again host the fourth annual Dominican Republic Golf Travel Exchange 2017, a professional platform that aims to continue showcasing to the world the Dominican Republic as the Caribbean’s golf tourism Mecca.

DR Golf will be held from Sept. 10 to 14 at Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa, a hotel located in the resort of the same name, in Punta Cana (east).

Teddy De Lara, president of the organizing company TARGET Marketing provided the details. “DR Golf has become the only event where international tour operators specialized in the golf niche market meet with hoteliers, golf course managers and receptive operators of the Dominican Republic.”

“It is very gratifying for us to organize this activity which shows the world Dominican Republic’s potential in terms of golf tourism, through DR GOLF 2017 we intend to show the tourism industry that our country occupies in the number 1 spot as a destination for golf in the Caribbean and Latin America,” said De Lara.

He said the previous DR Golf events have had a massive participation and expects the number of companies and delegates to continue increasing this year.

“In the last edition of DR Golf participated 97 delegates representing 37 tour operators and wholesale agencies as well as 34 international media organizations, which posted a 20% growth in the total participation of countries and international delegates in relation to the version of the previous year,” De Lara said.

The DR Golf Travel Exchange agenda will include a specialized seminar, a workshop between international tour operators and local suppliers; a two-round golf tournament, the first at “Teeth of the Dog” (Casa de Campo) and the final at “Punta Espada” (Cap Cana), as well as other activities of complementary knowledge of our country.
