San Jose, Costa Rica.- Dominican Republic president, Danilo Medina, on Thur. called for the strategic agenda of the Central American Integration System (SICA) to spur a “qualitative leap” in the region.
“We have strengthened the strategic agenda that must lead to a real qualitative leap in the integration process,” said Medina in his address to the SICA Presidential Summit in Costa Rica.
He assured that the system “moves steadily towards a prioritized agenda” of issues that seek to “find answers in our capacities” to deal with regional challenges such as climate change and the fight against poverty.
Medina also highlighted SICA’s initiative to strengthen its ties with its 27 observer countries and look for areas of cooperation.
