Largest ship ever to visit the country docks at Caucedo Port

Santo Domingo.- The multinational DP World Caucedo on Tuesday announced the arrival of the largest ship ever to dock at its Caucedo Port facility in Santo Domingo Este.

It said the port call of the 351 meter-long ship Cosco Yantian has set a DP World Caucedo and national record.

Hailing from Asia, the ship is one of the largest vessels serving the Americas today. It is operated by the Chinese shipper Cosco Shipping and can transport 9,469 containers, is.

DP World Caucedo said the ship built in 2006 has a 43-meter beam and weighs107,498 tons. “The Cosco Yantian departed from Singapore, crossed the Panama Canal and then continued his journey to various ports of the continent before arriving in Puerto Caucedo, for its process of offloading and uploading.”
