Dominican Parade, Green March butt heads in the Bronx

New York.- Dozens of Dominicans on Wed. slammed “Bronx Grand Dominican Parade” president Felipe Febles, who reportedly barred the “Green March” movement from taking part in the event set for Sunday along Grand Concourse Av.

“What Green March or Green March,” Febles spouted to movement commissioner Radhamés García, who requested participation in the parade.

Dominicans, including professionals, politicians, community activists, bodega owners, taxi drivers, and others residing in the Bronx, complain that Febles turns his back on the will of a majority of Dominicans.

“This attitude of Febles reveals that he has his “hidden link” with the government of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), and is only interested in company sponsorships in the millions of dollars, and afterwards leaves to vacation in the Dominican Republic. Long live the nation,” the group said, quoted by elnacional.com.do.

“For that the community is good, to speak on behalf of it to exploit a franchise that’s the free expression of Dominican folklore and culture for personal benefit,” the group said, and also slammed Febles’ “attitude of disrespect, arrogance, and ill-spoken with the locals who interact with him.”
