Rains forecast; hot weather persists

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting rain showers with thunderstorms and wind gusts for this Thursday, especially in the afternoon and early evening across the northeast, southeast, border region and central mountains.

According to the forecasters, this is caused by the tropical wave that is affecting weather conditions and maintaining a humid and unstable air mass over the national territory.

Temperatures will remain high and members of the public are advised to make sure they are drinking enough liquids, wear light clothing – preferably light-colored – and avoid sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
