July prices climb 0.18%, paced by foods

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Central Bank on Tuesday said July prices climbed 0.18% compared to June, while accumulated inflation in the first seven months stood at 1.20%.

“The report reveals that core annual inflation was 2.23% in the month of July. (This indicator measures inflationary pressures of monetary origin, isolating the effects of exogenous factors, allowing in this way to extract clearer signals for the conduct of monetary policy),” the Central Bank said in an emailed statement.

It adds that consumer prices were most influenced by the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages group, which rose 0.50% in July compared to June.
