Immigration arrests 355 Haitians as sweeps continue Santo Domingo. - The Immigration Agency on Thurs. announced the arrest of 355 undocumented foreigners in various locations in María Trinidad Sanchez province (north), in a continuation of the sweeps begun three weeks ago. Dozens of Immigration officers conducted raids starting 6am in the towns of El Pozo, El Factor, Los Limones, Los Cacaítos, Nueva Nagua and several districts of Nagua, backed by Army troops coordinated with provincial officials. In a statement, Immigration said of the detainees, 207 were undocumented Haitian nationals who were deported, including seven women. This was the third sweep in as many weeks, while similar operations were conducted in Santiago Rodriguez (northwest) and Moca (north), where 920 foreigners were arrested.
