Carnival cancels visits of two ships on Irma concern

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.- On concern that hurricane Irma will pass close to the Atlantic coast, Carnival Cruise Lines on Tues. suspended the visit of two ships that were to dock with nearly 7,000 tourists during the week at Amber Cove terminal, in Bahia Maimón.

A source quoted by eldia.com.do said precautionary measure the was taken on the category 5 Hurricane Irma’s projected track through the Caribbean region, where it threatens Dominican Republic’s Atlantic coast and the northeast.

In a post on its website, the company canceled the visit of the Carnival Magic ships slated to arrive tomorrow Wednesday, with 3,690 passengers, and Carnival Splendor, set to arrive Thursday with 3,200 tourists.
