More wet for the country

Santo Domingo.- The downpours will continue over the next 48 hours as a trough over Haiti, associated with Hurricane Maria, combines with a tropical wave approaching the country, the National Weather Office -Onamet- said Monday.

It forecasts scattered showers with thunderstorms from early Mon. morning over the eastern provinces and the Caribbean coast. “It’s expected that during the morning hours the rainfall will continue to appear and increase in the afternoon and evening by the approximation of the tropical wave.”

Onamet said the rains will continue Tuesday, but more widely scattered, towards the Northeast, Southeast and the Central Mountains, and warns of flash flooding for those areas.
