Five stadiums in 4 cities ready for Winter Baseball Season

Santo Domingo.- The 2017-18 Winter Baseball Season starts tomorrow as the five stadiums in four cities are ready for the 50-game calendar ending Dec. 21, marking the start of the playoffs.

“The stadiums are in optimum condition to host the tournament,” said Dominican Baseball League (Lidom) president Vitelio Mejía. “Making stadiums friendlier for fans is our main goal starting on the 13th of this month.”

Mejia said Santo Domingo’s Quisqueya stadium -home for the Tigres and Leones- has a high standard from the revamp by the National District City Council.

“There will be security, rearranged traffic, parking and lighting. Those are the achievements that we want to highlight, because they benefit the cornerstone of any sport and in this case of baseball and all the fans,” the Lidom president said.
