Alleged middleman arrested in lawyer’s murder

Santo Domingo.- Businessman Eddy Rafael Santana was arrested Wed. night and included in the indictment against the four charged with murdering the lawyer Yuniol Ramírez on Oct. 11.

The arrest, brings to five people being held in the case, including former Metropolitan Bus Services Office (OMSA), director Manuel Rivas.

At the time of his murder, Ramirez was seeking information on alleged graft in contracts with two companies owned by Santana, an OMSA supplier.

The indictment names Santana as the middleman Rivas used to allegedly pay a bribe to the Ramirez to desist from seeking information into the actions within the OMSA.
