Over 3,000 traffic cops to ensure a ‘Safe Christmas’

Santo Domingo.-  Metropolitan Transit Authority -AMET- director Frener Bello on Mon. said  that over 3,000 traffic cops will be deployed across the country’s thoroughfares as part of the “Safe Christmas without Accidents” campaign.

He said that the officers will expedite traffic, in compliance with the Law, “by supervising, assisting and preventing traffic accidents, with the fundamental purpose of reducing deaths and injuries due to this cause during the Christmas season.”

Bello said pickup trucks, motorcycles and cranes will be used in the various routes nationwide, to “strengthen the mission of prevention and assistance during the Christmas and New Year holidays, when a large flow of people and vehicles is expected.”
