Medina attends annual World Economic Forum at Davos

Davos.- President Danilo Medina attended the Tues. morning opening of the 48th Annual World Economic Forum, to be held from Jan. 23 to 26 in Switzerland, under the slogan “Building a shared future in a fractured world.”

The session began at 11:15am local (6:15am Dominican time) in the Davos Congress Center.

Medina is one of six Latin American heads of state invited to the global dialogue platform that groups global leaders to articulate their different visions in the co-design, collaboration and co-creation of a better world.

In his welcome remarks Swiss Confederation president, Alain Berset, urged for multilateral cooperation.

“2018 must be the year we show the intention to collaborate multilaterally. We are witnesses of global conflicts, and we cannot forget climate change or inequalities in the world. We must show commitment and political will in favor of peace, security and human rights,” Berset said.
