Northwest province eager to exploit its tourism potential

Montecristi, Dominican Republic.- Border Development Agency director Miguel Bejarán met recently with Tourism minister, Francisco Javier García, to expedite the work and conclude the Montecristi Province Strategic Tourism Plan.

He said he asked Garcia to update and resume the Plan which covers all areas related to tourism in that province, especially better road infrastructure for visitors to access recreational areas, among other works.

Among the key works, Bejaran cited the construction of the Mi Popa beach-San Fernando road, “of transcendental importance,” and  the conclusion of the project Ruta de la Fe, whof an amphitheater near the monolith El Morro and the recovery of other nearby beaches.

For his part, García promised to revise the plan as soon as he returns from the Berlin tourism fair, where the Dominican Republic touts its tourism potential.
