Immigration detains 273 illegal aliens in southern towns

Santo Domingo.-  The Immigration agency on Wed. said it arrested 273 illegal aliens in several locations in Peravia province (south).

It said it deployed inspectors and agents in the districts Matanza and Villa Sombrero, as well as the Bogaert sector, where residents alerted the presence of the foreigners.

“After a background check, 130 of the detainees were transferred to the border post at Elías Piña to be processed and deported to their country, and two others were sent to the Investigation Dept.,” the agency said.

“These operations will be carried out in other provinces of the national territory, to continue locating foreigners with irregular status,” Immigration said in the statement.
