Senate approves US$150.0M loan to deal with disasters

Sano Domingo.- The Senate on Wednesday approved a US$150.0 million loan to be earmarked for risk management and disaster catastrophes.

The initiative, submitted by the Executive Power, was approved after the Finance Commission rendered a favorable report.

The report notes that the loan is from the Inter-American Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

The loan agreement now goes to the Chamber of Deputies, which is expected to pass it, given the ruling party’s (PLD) control of the lower Chamber.
