Big business bets on tech, mogul says

Santo Domingo.- National Business Council (CONEP) president Pedro Brache on Tues. said technical-professional training is essential within the country’s entire educational system, to take advantage of technological advances and raise professional and academic levels.

The dairy mogul was the guest speaker for the graduation of 13,000 new professionals from the Technical-Professional Institute (Infotep), headed by president Danilo Medina,.

“For almost four decades Infotep has contributed significantly to the development of human resources and increased productivity of companies in all sectors of economic activity, combining the efforts of government, workers and employers,” he said.

He said the new graduates have the chance to succeed, as a tool to contribute significantly to Dominican Republic’s development.

In a statement, Brache said the fourth industrial revolution brings with it the world’s digitalization, a transformed industry and the introduction of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. “It’s evident that the strengthening training offer at the technical level, constitutes an important wager for the future.”
