Dominican Republic tapped as prime investment spot at European Real Estate Summit

Madrid.- Edward De Valle II, President and CEO of Grupo De Valle, recently highlighted the Dominican Republic’s immense potential for real estate and tourism investment at SIMA, Europe’s largest real estate event. Speaking at the prominent Madrid Real Estate Exhibition from May 21-24, De Valle II asserted that the Caribbean nation is currently in its prime for international investment.

De Valle’s presentation at SIMA focused on hotel administration as a cornerstone for successful real estate ventures, a field where he sees unlimited potential for the Dominican Republic. He emphasized that staying competitive isn’t just about flashy designs, but about “creating products that truly connect globally.” His firm, Grupo De Valle, has a substantial portfolio, leading over $500 million in direct and cooperative investments across the country.

The CEO offered a compelling case for the Dominican Republic as a strategic investment and tourism destination. He pointed out the country’s leadership in regional tourism, its stable political climate, and exceptional investment guarantees. De Valle also shared insights into “condo-hotel” projects, an innovative hybrid model combining hotel and condominium ownership, which offers investors a unique blend of personal use and financial returns.

He noted that with hundreds of millions of people to the north and south, the market demand for the Dominican Republic is not the issue; rather, it’s about developing the right product. De Valle observed, “With more than 400 million people to the north and almost 500 million to the south, there’s no reason why our market shouldn’t be doubling its current figures. The problem isn’t demand, it’s the product.”

De Valle concluded his address with a clear invitation to attendees: “It’s time to rethink where and how we invest. Look closer, invest in the Dominican Republic.” His participation at SIMA, an event drawing thousands of professionals and hundreds of companies from over 30 countries, served as a key platform to promote the Dominican Republic’s burgeoning real estate and tourism sector.
