Punta Rucia investments drive tourism growth and economic revival

Montecristi.- Punta Rucia’s tourism sector is gaining momentum, thanks to strategic investments led by the Cibao Atlántico Business Consortium and its flagship initiative, the Montañas del Mar project. Jenry Castro, Executive Director of the consortium, highlighted the potential of the area—particularly Punta Rucia and La Ensenada—to become a key driver of economic growth along the northern Dominican coastline.
Castro emphasized the importance of continued public-private collaboration, urging the government of President Luis Abinader to expedite infrastructure and development projects through the Ministry of Tourism and other agencies. He noted that Punta Rucia, La Ensenada, Montecristi, and Buen Hombre are now top destinations in the region, drawing attention for their natural beauty and investment potential.
The Montañas del Mar project, located in Estero Hondo, is attracting international investors from the U.S., Europe, and beyond. According to Castro, business leaders from Miami, Massachusetts, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, and France have shown serious interest in the area after visiting the development site.
