Dominican military chief visits the U.S. Southern Command

Miami.- Armed Forces minister Joaquin Virgilio Perez visited the facilities of the United States Southern Command, invited by its chief, U.S. Air Force general Douglas M. Fraser.

Upon his arrival the Dominican Lieutenant General was received with the corresponding honors, and thanked his hosts for the invitation and said he was pleased with the distinction of being the first foreigner who is received in the new military installation.

Fraser and Perez affirmed that both institutions will remain united to confront the region’s common threats such as drug trafficking, gun smuggling and the traffic of people, among others crimes.
