Officer in plane theft case sent to jail 3 months to await trial
Santo Domingo. – The Santo Domingo province Permanent Attention Court sent Army first lieutenant John Percival Matos to three months in Najayo Prison, San Cristóbal to await trial, and his wife Ginnsellys Halversoni Vásquez, was released on bail, both charged with the theft of a twin engine plane from Higuero Aiport (AILI) Sunday morning.=
Assistant DA Wilton Gutiérrez said they were satisfied with the court’s ruling on the request for incarceration, which was also stated by plane’s owner, the resort group Puntacana.
The plane was reportedly located and retained in Venezuela, and is expected to be returned to the country shortly.
