Fugitive in Figueroa Agosto case had been negotiating her surrender

Santo Domingo.– Leavy Yanira Nin Batista, brought from Madrid via the Las AmericasInternational Airport Saturday night, had been negotiating her surrender withDominican authorities for more than three months.

Thefugitive and the wife of Puerto Rican kingpin and murder convict Jose FigueroaAgosto even met with the authorities in order to arrange her surrender,according to National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso.

Nin wouldappear before the Second Court of Instruction for a hearing on coercivemeasures, after a preliminary hearing she must face on charges that have beenfiled against her, such as money laundering, criminal association,falsification of public documents and the use of false documents.
