Convicted ex banker denies pardon bid, diariolibre.com reports

SANTO DOMINGO.- "I’ve neither signed any request for a pardon, nor have I authorized anybody else to do so in my name. Apparently, I was included by error, because I would hate to think that the appearance of my name in a supposed list of applicants has been the result of ill will," said convicted ex banker Manuel A. Pellerano Tuesday morning, quoted by diariolibre.com.
The former banker’s statement comes just hours after local media reported that Pellerano figured on a list of more than 300 names of inmates who’ve requested one of the Presidential pardons traditionally issued February 27 to mark Day of Independence.
"I’m concentrated on a judicial solution of my case and as such we’ve submitted, more than one year ago, a request of revision before the Supreme Court, which still hasn’t been ruled on. We’re confident of justice in our cause," said the former president of the failed bank Bancredito.
