Partly cloudy skies, lower temps, high Atlantic surf

Santo Domingo.- Partly cloudy skies can be expected in the Central Cibao, Northeast and Southwest, the Central Mountains, Northwest, and the Atlantic Coast, with some widely scattered showers.

The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) forecasts some rains for the North and Northeast from a low pressure system north of the country today, and slightly lower temperatures and widely scattered showers Thursday and Friday.

It said ocean conditions continue dangerous along the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts, where small craft are advised to remain in port, and not to venture out of Samaná Bay.

Onamet adds that starting Thursday residents in low lying zones along the Atlantic coast should be on the lookout for high surf and flooding, and swimmers are warned of rip currents in the beaches.
