Venezuela Embassy holds mass for Hugo Chavez’s health

SANTO DOMINGO.- Venezuela’s Embassy yesterday held a mass for president Hugo Chavez’s health, in the wake of his recent surgery in Cuba to remove a new cancerous tumor.

Chavez’s photo was placed in the Cristo Salvador Church in the Honduras sector, hosted by Venezuela ambassador Alfredo Murga, with attendance by diplomats, government officials and opposition PRD party presidential candidate Hipólito Mejía.

"All over the Dominican Republic masses of healing such as this have been officiated, all society has come to pray for president Hugo Chavez’s health," the diplomat said.
