Ending months of political bickering, Boston Consul finally assumes the post

NEW YORK.- Months of political bickering within the ruling PLD party came to an end when Miguel Andujar, Dominican General consul in Boston finally took the post Friday, after his designation in September, 2011.
The official had to work against not only the resistance from interim consul Ramona Abreu, but also the fact that his residency status delayed accreditation by the U.S. State Department.
To pressure her to give up the post Dominican ambassador in Washington Anibal de Castro accompanied Andujar to the offices held for months by Abreu, reportedly sponsored by senior PLD leader abroad, Eduardo Selman.
