Taiwan receives ashes of diplomat murdered in DR

Santo Domingo.– The remains of a Taiwanese diplomat, who was found dead in the Dominican Republic earlier this month, were taken back to Taiwan on Saturday.
The ashes of Julia Ou, 55, a secretary responsible for overseas compatriot affairs in the country, were taken home by her brother Ou Ming-te. More than 50 officials and workers from that institution showed up to express their condolences.
Julia Ou, who had been serving in the Dominican Republic for over a year, was found stabbed to death at her home in Santo Domingo on April 18.
According to a police report, a special task force has been appointed to investigate the case.
