Showers, high temperatures

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) Friday forecast from moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms for all regions except the East, from a low pressure system over the territory.

It said the showers will be more intense in the afternoon and evening.

Onamet also forecasts electrical storms and scattered showers early Saturday for greater Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, San Pedro and La Romana provinces.

It said the country can expect seasonably high temperatures from the prevailing southeast wind.
