Another Dominican elections milestone, formal exit polls

Santo Domingo.- In yet another milestone for Dominican Republic elections, the National Business Council (CONEP) announced it will conduct formal exit polls during Sunday’s vote for a new President and its first Deputies Abroad.

In a statement handed to reporters in a Monday press conference, CONEP president Manuel Diez Cabral said the will interview 7,000 people randomly outside polling places nationwide.

The business leader added that a missive from JCE president Roberto Rosario clearly states that the Electoral Board will not limit CONEP’s initiative.

According to local media, the pollster Gallup Dominicana will conduct the survey.

In addition to the exit polls, this presidential election will also feature real-time results disclosed to the media once voting closes.
