Two Haitians get 20 years in prison for rape of US missionary

Santiago.- A Santiago three judge court on Tuesday sentenced the Haitians Alex Lato and Lulo Doraluz to 20 years in prison for the rape of a U.S. missionary, in 2010.
The two men abducted the U.S. citizen Zoe Gordon, a university student who came into the country as a missionary, while walking on the avenue Republica de Argentina, and later taken to a construction site, where she was beaten and sexually abused.
The ruling by judges Assisi Rafael, Wilson Moreta and Aneris Torres comes after U.S. Consul General William Weissman visited Santiago province prosecutor Luisa Liranzo June 11, to follow up the case.
