Scattered showers, high temperatures

SANTO DOMINGO.- A tropical wave southeast of Puerto Rico, moving west around 27 miles per hour is expected to pass through Dominican territory with a slight increase in rainfall, the National Meteorology Office forecasts Tuesday.

It said that the prevailing east wind will bring sporadic showers to the Southeast, Northeast, Central Mountains and border zone.

Temperatures will remain seasonably high during the day, for which it recommends drinking plenty of fluids and avoid direct sunlight.

Onamet maintains its alerts along the Caribbean coast offshore, where small craft should remain near shore.
