“Transcendental” measures expected from Medina’s 1st cabinet meeting

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina arrived right on time to his first Cabinet meeting in, accompanied by Vice president Margarita Cedeño, Presidency Legal adviser Cesar Pina, Presidency Administrative minister José Ramón Peralta and Presidency Chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo.

The National Palace meeting brings together ministers, administrators and managers of government agencies, including the Governor of the Central Bank.

It’s Medina’s first formal meeting with senior officials who’ll discuss among other topics, the preparation of next year’s Budget, with expectations that –as Presidency Press director Roberto Rodriquez said Tuesday- “transcendental” measures will be announced to deal with the current economic situation.

The meeting takes place in the Governing Council Salon on the second floor of the National Palace.
