Horse thieves caught

Santo Domingo.- Police in BocaChica have arrested three men who are accused of stealing horses and hiringthem to street vendors.

The alleged horse thieves wereidentified as Ramón Arias, Miguel Vargas (El Abuelito) and Santos de Jesús, fromwhom the police impounded five horses.

A Police press release informedthat another two men, who belong to the same gang, are being sought inconnection with the case.

They alsosold horses to farmers in the Boca Chica area.

Theirvictims included a fire brigade colonel, Federico Féliz de la Rosa.

In a separate incident, the Policeannounced that they had found a homemade firearm, known as a “Chilena” in thepossession of Orlando Gutiérrez Jociel, a resident of Los Tres Ojos.

GutiérrezJociel was arrested at the Texaco gas station on Avenida España, after beingsearched by a police preventive patrol.
