Catholics share reverence to the Virgin of La Altagracia

Higüey, DR.– Thousands of Catholic pilgrims are arriving at Higuey’s Basilica to celebrate today the Day of La Altagracia, a manifestation of the Virgin Mary, the greatest religious fervors shared by Dominicans and Haitians.

Since Sunday thousands of Catholics form long lines to enter the Basilica in reverence to La Altagracia, declared the country’s Patron Saint in 1922.
