Navy nabs drug boat at Boca Chica, 1 Venezuelan presumed dead

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Navy halted a speedboat loaded with drugs near Boca Chica and towed to the Naval Base at Sans Souci Thursday morning, with one Venezuelan missing and presumed dead after jumping overboard.
The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), whose members joined the operation, didn’t specify the amount of the drug.
The agents allegedly forced bystanders on the beach to load the bales aboard a Navy boat and a helicopter.
Two Venezuelans were arrested in the hours-long operation that began 3am in Punta Marina, Boca Chica, until the boat was boarded at La Matica island.
Though the authorities haven’t confirmed the Venezuelan’s fate, the outlet diariolibre.com reports that he died after diving into the water.
