Santo Domingo.- Presidency spokesman Roberto Rodríguez Marchena was injured in a traffic accident at northern María Trinidad Sánchez province Wednesday afternoon, while traveling on president Danilo Medina’s motorcade to inaugurate several public works.

Also hurt in the collision were his assistant, Domingo Batista, and the driver, who were taken to a medical facility in Nagua, where they were treated and released.

Rodriguez Marchena was transferred to the Cedimat hospital in the capital, where doctors placed him under 24 hours of observation, on complaints of chest pains.
