1965 Revolution Hero gets historic honors today

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Friday will head the ceremony to transfer the remains of Colonel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez to the National Mausoleum starting 8:15am.

His remains will be transferred from the Army Military Academy to the National Police, where he will be given a 17-gun salute, and at 8:30am will be taken to the Puerta del Conde, in the Colonial Zone.

At 10am the remains of the Hero of the 1965 Revolution will be placed at his final resting place in the National Mausoleum, whose Honor Guard will render him military honors.
