No parole for killer in 14-year old cousin’s gruesome murder
San Pedro, Dominican Republic. – The San Pedro District Court on Wednesday denied release on parole requested by murder convict Mario Redondo Llenas, who’s serving a 30-year sentence for the gruesome murder of his 14-year old cousin José Rafael Llenas Aybar.
To reject the inmate’s request, judge Altagracia Esther Mejia said Redondo doesn’t show repentance for the crime, “which society still hasn’t been able to forget.”
Both the victim’s and killer’s parents attended the hearing, where the prosecution warned that the inmate hadn’t met the conditions for his release and must serve out the remaining 13 years on his conviction.
Also convicted in the murder was Juan Manuel Moliné Rodríguez, sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Forensics determined that Llenas Aybar was stabbed 24 times.
