Time’s up: Labor Ministry calls on parties to agree on wage hike

Santo Domingo.- The Labor Ministry’s National Wage Committee (CNS) will meet in the next few days with management and workers unions representatives, to reach an agreement to raise the minimum wage in the private sector.

The meeting, which could take place early next week, after Labor Minister Maritza Hernandez returns from abroad this weekend.

The agreement for a salary hike for workers has been stalled on sharp differences between labor and management, with the former demanding a 17% minimum wage hike while the latter has stood firm at 14%.
